RO and Deionisation / Demineralisation
The terms deionisation and demineralisation are often used interchangeably. Both can be achieved by ion exchange and reverse osmosis.
There are systems that exist for demineralisation and for larger systems we recommend the use of compound beds using counter current ion exchange. We are able to design plants using the LewaPlus program. This program also allows us to evaluate the performance of existing plants in the CPA system.
Power Production / Boiler Feed Water
Feed water to boiler requires very low levels of dissolved salts. Ion exchange and RO are used to reduce the TDS to levels where scaling and corrosion are almost eliminated. High pressure boilers require, in addition, the removal of both reactive and colloidal silica.
